Scotland aims for 100% renewables by 2020

Scotland are now setting the benchmark for renewables deployment in the UK & Ireland. Only two years ago they were aiming for 100% renewables by 2025, and now the same ambition is to be achieved by 2020. You can view an up-to-date report on progress so far if you visit Scottish Renewables. It was 2009 when I last worked on a solar project in Scotland, the report is available to read HERE. Massive progress has been made since then. In fact, Sainsbury’s roll-out of 6.9MWp of solar this year was carried out by the Scottish installer, Renewable Resources.
