PV grant for SME’s

Action Renewables in partnership with Electric Ireland has been awarded the administration of a new commercial PV grant by the NI Utility Regulator.  The grant which is part of the Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP) is for SMEs for the installation of PV systems.

The grant offer is 20% of the relevant eligible costs of installation of a PV system up to a maximum of £3000.

The fund is open for application forms from 1st April 2013 and will be administered on a first come first served basis.

The definition of an SME is a company employing less than 250 employees and a turnover of less than 50 million euros.

Businesses in the agricultural production sector are eligible to apply to the NISEP SME Solar PV grant – as long as they meet the de minimus aid regulations which relate to rules on State Aid.

If applying from this sector, please download the Framework document for the Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme 2013-14, refer to pages 116-119, and read thoroughly to make sure your business applies before proceeding with the application.

Please note, all applications must be submitted with at least 2 original quotes, from 2 different MCS installers.
