It’s important to know how much you pay per unit for grid-supplied electricity, in order to understand the savings you will make by going solar. Here, Jamie Delargy compares the tariffs available in Northern Ireland:

Now that the electricity suppliers have announced their new tariffs, who is offering the cheapest deals? I have used the new estimate of average consumption which is 3200 kWh a year.

Standard default tariff which is the most expensive option

Budget Energy’s new tariff doesn’t come into force until March 10. Power NI’s and SSE Airtricity’s new tariffs valid from April 1. Electric Ireland’s tariff already available.
